Salvation’s Story

A Journey through Word & Sacrament

An Introduction to Christianity
in the Anglican Tradition

Salvation’s Story is a group-based introduction to the Christian faith, written especially for use in Anglican churches. It is designed for parishes seeking a clear, faithful, and theologically grounded way to explore the gospel together.

This course approaches Christianity not as a set of isolated doctrines, but as the unfolding story of God’s saving work — a story revealed in Holy Scripture, embodied in the life of the Church, and received through Word and Sacrament.

Whether used for confirmation preparation, baptism preparation, Lent groups, enquirers’ classes, or small group discipleship, Salvation’s Story provides a structured and deeply biblical pathway into the heart of the faith.

A Course Shaped
by Scripture

At the centre of Salvation’s Story is sustained engagement with Scripture. Each session invites participants to read substantial passages of Scripture and to see how the whole biblical narrative holds together as a great narrative of redemption.

Rather than offering detached summaries, the course allows Scripture itself to speak. Creation, covenant, incarnation, cross, resurrection, and new creation are explored as parts of one coherent drama of redemption. The aim is not merely information, but attentive listening to the Word of God within the fellowship of the Church.

This makes the course particularly suitable for parish settings, where learning is not an individual exercise but something undertaken together.

Word & Sacrament

Salvation’s Story reflects the Anglican conviction that the gospel isn’t only proclaimed but also inhabited.

Salvation is presented not as a private spiritual experience detached from the Church, but as incorporation into Christ’s Body. The meaning of Baptism and the Eucharist is explored carefully and pastorally, helping participants understand how the sacraments belong to the very shape of Christian life.

The course therefore works especially well in contexts preparing adults for Baptism or Confirmation, or in churches wishing to deepen their congregation’s understanding of sacramental worship.

Formation, Not Just Information

Christian faith isn’t simply believed; it’s lived in community.

Throughout the course, participants are encouraged towards habits of prayer, repentance, thanksgiving, and hope. The tone is reflective and pastoral, aiming to form Christians who are rooted in Scripture, nourished by the sacraments, and aimed at living well with God, each other, and creation.

Used in a group context, the material naturally fosters thoughtful discussion and shared learning. It assumes that faith grows in community — through conversation, worship, and attentive study together.

For Anglican / Episcopal Churches

Salvation’s Story has been written from within the life of the Anglican Church and reflects its historic commitments: the authority of Scripture, the faith of the creeds, the centrality of the sacraments, and a spirituality shaped by common prayer.

It can be used confidently in parish settings while remaining accessible to those from other Christian backgrounds who are exploring the faith for the first time.
